KAY DELIVERS AN OSCAR ACADEMY PERFORMANCE FOR COUGARS UNDER9S BLUES

Cougars Under 9’s Blues continued their early season top form run with an impressive performance at home to Spartak Saffron Walden.  With regular Coaches away the side were successfully led on a managerial debut by Richard Kay and Andy Kitteringham.

Going close early on Cougars hit the woodwork twice with efforts from Oscar Kay and Rylee Kitteringham, only to go behind against the run of play to a breakaway goal.  However just before half time Kay launched a rocket into the top corner which nearly broke the net. Cougars were prevented from going behind before the break by a full length diving save from Lui LoConte.

Following a half time team talk the boys started the second half applying high levels of intensity and were duly rewarded when Dan Fone notched early on shortly followed by another from Miles Woodford. A sweet corner routine resulted in Finley Wood, joint man of the match, sweeping home from close range.  Cougars continued to play good football and defend resolutely with Adam Sleath and Wood providing a sound defensive shield before a final goal from Ben Lewis.  Bear Wennington delivered a man of the match performance with a tenacious display in which he covered every blade of grass on the pitch. It was a great all round team performance.
