The sun finally made an appearance on Sunday in time for Buntingford Cougars Under12’s Whites as they welcomed Hitchin based Wymondley Park. Cougars dominated in the first half with some great play in the midfield by Jake Craddock Deboise, Oliver Kay, Freddie Bentley and Ben Perryman with Will Greathead leading the attack. Despite all the possession, the home side could not defeat the Wymondley goalkeeper who was playing a blinder. The second half saw Cougars find another gear with Tom Norris’ shot on goal going just wide. It was Oliver Kay who opened the scoring, quickly followed by goals from Greathead, a hat-trick from Ben Perryman and a final goal from Freddie Bentley. A strong defence of Tom Trinder, Thea Black, Dom Hart and goalkeeper Tom Betley ensured a clean sheet for the Cougars with a convincing six-nil win.
