TOMMY DEANE IS IN DA HOUSE FOR COUGARS U8’S BLUES

Cougars Under8’s Blues travelled to Letchworth Garden City Eagles on Saturday and enjoyed a really tough game. Most importantly Craig Ivison’s side took some real positives from the game. The first half saw Thomas Deane in goal who was influential, pulling off several key saves and interceptions. Sebbie Ivison was playing the ball out nicely from the back with Sam Dawson and Tyler Cole running the channels and Charlie Wicks harrying the opposition defence.

An early goal from Tyler Cole settled any nerves and Charlie Wick also hit the back of the net with a piledriver from the edge of the box into the top right hand corner – which gave the keeper no chance! Wick also had another shot that cracked off the crossbar moments later. The second half was even but with some notable highlights. A Bobby Moore-esque tackle from Joseph De Monte, a crisp volleyed goal from Charlie Wick for his second of the game and a marauding Thomas Deane making tackles all over the pitch to earn himself the man of the match award. Some real positives from a tough game left coach Craig Ivison happy.
