I don't think the name changed to Cougars until 1974. I moved to Buntingford in August 1973 and I'm sure they were still called 'Chipmunks'. I started playing in the 74/75 season and remember registering for 'Cougars' and seem to remember this was the first season of the new name. Ian and Darren are the same age as me and this picture would make them 8yrs old if it is 1972? - they look older than that to me! The under 12s when I joined were coached by Alex Evans and Doug Kitchener. There must be somebody out there who has some better memories! Wow! that is a long time ago.
