
Cougars under12′s, winners of the Carl Couzens memorial trophy, in recognition of the most sportsman-like team at our 5 a-side tournament.



Cougars under 10s whites, playing in stripes, enjoyed their victory just edging past the Cheekey Monkeys playing in Cougars yellow away kit. A close final, well done to both teams.


After coming runners up in the league, cougars went one better by beating Stortford 4-0 in the league cup. After an even start, Cougars started to dominate and won a penalty, which was converted by R.Fitzgerald. Five miniutes before half time R.Fitzgerald hit a stunning a 30 yard shot that sailed over the keeper. In the second half, Cougars dominated and the third came with a sensational run from O.Tokely with him finsishing the move off. The fourth came from a superb strike from M.Moore. Sean Debnam was delighted ”I would like to thank the boys and coaches for all their hard work on another successful season”. New Years day tradition continues as Curran takes the plaudits. Sean plays quite well too.

Cougars travelled to Melbourn Tigers on Sunday and came out 6 – 2 winners to go top of the league. Cougars started the brighter and from a fine run down the right wing by Will Thorp finished with a great strike to go one up, Cougars kept the pressure on but could not get by the Melbourn keeper until the end of the first half when Sam Rice finished well from close range. Cougars were on top for most of the second half and soon added to the scoring from Myles Radwell, Cougars kept going hard but Melbourn pulled one back, but Cougars were not finished with hitting the back of the net. Sam Rice added to his total with one more and the scoring was finished off with two well taken goals from George Woods after Melbourn had got their second. Cougars ran out winners 6 –2.
