NOAH NOTCHES THEM TWO BY TWO FOR COUGARS UNDER8s WHITES

Cougars Under8’s Whites were dominant throughout against Ashwell on a surprisingly warm morning at The Bury. By half time the in form striker Noah Benton scored twice to compliment strikes from James Willis and Ronnie Hennessy who finished off a long surging run by coolly slotting past the keeper at close range. A fifth was almost added by an unlucky Johnny Nicholas who struck the left upright after collecting the ball from Rubi Pryke who had mesmerized a gleeful crowd with one of his trademark drag backs.

The second half saw Finlay Tanner score a brace of his own, firstly with a shot parried off the keeper’s leg and the second from an acute angle nestling just inside the far post. But for a miraculous save by the opposition keeper, Willis would have added to his first half strike with a rasping effort struck with his favoured left foot. Jack Nicholas and brother Johnny added strength and surety in midfield, Hennessey was a commanding force at the back all morning and the home crowd, bathed in autumn sun were treated to a very fine display by Cougars Whites that will be remembered for some time to come!
