OLIVER IS THE TALLIS-MAN FOR UNDER8s BLUES

It was a sunny day at the bury, as Cougars Under8s blues welcomed Bedwell to their home turf. Thomas Deane started the match in goal. Sebbie Ivison, Oliver Tallis, Thomas Flanagan were outfield and Charlie Wick led the attack. The opposition showed some great movement early on and it was clear that Cougars were in for a tough game. Thomas Flanagan was once again shining, the supporters on the north bank were loving his “never say die” attitude and Ivison was solid in defence as ever.

Later in the game Ivison took his turn in goal as Joseph De Monte, Sam Dawson and Tyler Cole came on. The courageous Flanagan took a blow to the face and was replaced by Tallis and then Buintingford grew in confidence as half time approached.

After the interval Wick came back on up front, making some clever runs before Thomas Deane earned a corner with strong work down the right wing. He crossed from the resulting corner and Tallis was an inch away from a spectacular headed goal.

As the second half progressed Coach Craig Ivison shuffled his pack once more. With Tyler Cole working hard up front and linking well with Seb Ivison who scored the only Cougars goal of the game which brought the game to an exciting finale. In the dying minutes Dawson put a super lob just wide as Flanagan pulled off a string of super saves at the other end. Coach Craig told sky sports news afterwards: “yeah, it was a game of four quarters really, all the players did so well” As ever, the match was followed by Hot dogs in the club house which were appreciated by the players.
