Cougars Weekend Round Up

Wow what a weekend . . . here’s the round up . . . .

Cougars Under6’s have started their Cougars careers so well. They travelled to Stevenage to play four fun friendly games and enjoyed some close games but still managed to score twelve goals. A debut goal for Beau Lampard was one of the many highlights. Our U9’s hosted Austen Arrowheads at The Bury and continued to show huge signs of progression and development in every department.

The U10’s Blues played a mini tournament at Ashwell and enjoyed four great games against Ashwell, Morden and FC Comets; winning one and drawing two with Nathan Anderson and Charlie Fountain getting on the scoresheet. The man of the match for Cougars U10s Blues was Tom Carter who played a blinder.

Cougars U10’S Whites also played a mini tournament at Shefford where they did well to win three matches and draw one. The prolific Hayden Walley was top scorer for the Whites and Cougars man of the tournament was Kameron Weston.

Buntingford’s U11s were back to winning ways as Paul Skinner’s lads beat Letchworth 4 – 0 at home in the cup whilst Rich Thorpe’s U12’s Blues enjoyed an emphatic home victory by nine goals to one against Broadhall. Not to be outdone the U12’s Whites led by Bobby White who beat Stevenage Boro Bluesox by scoring seven and conceding just one.

Buntingford’s U13s travelled to Bedwell where Kev Ridgewell’s team fought out a well earned 2-2 draw but Cougar’s U14’s went down at home to a solitary strike from Barnet Azzurri in the Mid Herts Premier division mid table clash.

Cougar’s Under 15’s Blues continued their good season in the very competitive first division with a one nil win over Sawbridgeworth and the U15’s Whites continued their great season with an exciting 9-4 victory; hat tricks from Sam Ward and Daniel prior were the highlights which was complimented by two goals from Paul Briffett and a solitary strike from Dane Hyland, the win puts the U15’s whites in fourth position and in a confident mood for the new year.

The Under 16’s are Cougars draw specialists this year and earned another single point in a 2-2 draw away to Langford.

We wish all the Cougars boys, girls, young men and ladies a very merry Christmas – you do Cougars proud every weekend – enjoy the break.

It just leaves me (Rudolph in the picture) to say Up The Cougars !!
