Harrison Hits Hat Trick For U13’s

Buntingford Cougars Under13’s Blues go from strength to strength in the demanding first division as Richard Thorpe’s classy outfit despatched Clifton Colts six goals to one in Buntingford on Sunday. A goal in the first minute set the scene in a game that saw an outstanding performance from the impressive Harrison Coldicott-Stevens who bagged a hat-trick.

 

Buntingford Cougars mini soccer section had a good weekend with Cougars Under7’s Blues and Whites enjoying two great games with Stevenage Boro Juniors on the 3G surface at Stevenage Valleys complex with a total of thirteen goals scored.

 

Meanwhile Wesley Cook’s Under8’s also played two matches with Stevenage Juniors in an exciting affair and put in a great team display with a superb performance from the goalkeepers Oliver Mckinley and Lucca Hedge. The Man of The Match accolades went to Austin Cook and Charlie Gerring.

 

In the Under9’s section Paul Eveleigh’s Whites team scored three goals courtesy of Archie Prior, Jake Lemay and Ben Hume but were matched by Letchworth Eagles. Stand in goalkeeper Mike Cannell was outstanding for Cougars.

 

Cougars Under11’s Whites hosted Letchworth Eagles Reds who play two divisions higher and Dean Howard’s team matched their opponents on a surface that was difficult for both sides. Buntingford were narrowly defeated despite several chances for Casey Heenan. It was Heenan who hit the cross bar that created the Cougars goal as Tom Carter followed up well to score. A strong performance from Josh Alvarenga earned him the man of the Match trophy.

 

Cougars Under12’s secured another win as they ran out three two winners at home to Hitchin but the Under13’s Whites remain in third place in division three after losing by the odd goal in five to second placed Bassingbourn. In the Under16’s section Peter Briffett’s Whites team enjoyed their third victory of the season with a convincing five one away win at Manuden.
