LUKE LAUNCHES COUGARS UNDER9’s WHITES FIREWORKS

Buntingford Cougars Under9 Whites created their own fireworks at the bury this weekend with a cracking display against Bedwell Rangers. Luke Ross, like a firecracker opened the scoring with a direct solo run from defence and a rocket shot that hit the net. Moments after the goal Cougars conceded a penalty to allow visitors to bring the scores level and light the touch paper for a great encounter.

Cougars got a firm hold in midfield launched by Beau Quinn who was sparkling and went onto score the next goal. William Brown and TJ Curtis were linking up very well and one of their moves led to Brown darting past three defenders like a fuse wire to score a stunning goal. Cougars then had Henry Dowsett, Curtis and Quinn all come close to scoring.

Tyler Jordan had a great game between the sticks and in defence Alfie Vottariello, Miles Arnold and Luke Ross all worked so well together. On the flanks Harry Norris and Dowsett both had superb games to compliment stunning performances by Quinn, Brown and Curtis.

Before the final whistle the away side scored again to make a tense final minute in what was an end to end game. Cougars Gaffer Tom Curtis told BT Sport’s Glenn Hoddle “It was a stunning team display today and man of the match was a split decision between TJ Curtis and Miles Arnold, who both had one of the best games they have played all season. I am a very pleased Manager and proud of all the boys.”
