Cougars Under9’s Whites welcomed Hitchin Town at the weekend and Buntingford had to dig deep with just the bare seven players available.
Hitchin had a good start and scored two goals very early before Cougars defender Alfie Bester started the comeback with his first ever goal for Cougars. Bester converted at the far post after a corner was floated in.
After the break Lucca hedge was key as he made numerous important saves early on to keep cougars in the game and his efforts were matched by Luke Dunkley with many crucial tackles as he was often the lone defender as Cougars pushed on for an equaliser.
It was another defender who at last scored the deserved equaliser as Charlie Gerring was the first to react as he pounced on a rebound to slot home. It was a great performance for Cougars where everyone was superb and the Man of the Match accolade went to Charlie Gerring.
