Introduction to Emergency first aid

Introduction to First Aid in Football is an online course suitable for anyone looking to develop their knowledge and understanding of medical care for players of all ages.

Medical emergencies in football can strike at any time. From common injuries to life-threatening situations such as sudden cardiac arrest, understanding basic first aid can help save lives. The FA is pleased to offer this football first aid course for you to complete at your own pace.

Throughout this course, you will work through online modules and learn to be able to respond quickly should a medical emergency arise, as well as gaining the confidence to handle situations the right way.

Once you have completed Introduction to First Aid in Football, you will be awarded a certificate that will be valid for three years. You will also be able to return to the course at any time to refresh your knowledge.

Please note that Introduction to First Aid in Football is available as a module within Introduction to Coaching Football. If you have completed Introduction to Coaching Football, you do not need to complete Introduction to First Aid in Football twice.

Safeguarding Children Recertification

online Safeguarding Children Recertification is available for free for anyone who has previously completed the Safeguarding Children Course, The FA Safeguarding Children Workshop or online Recertification, and your qualification is due to expire in the next six months, or it has already expired.

The course will take you around one hour to complete and will be valid for two years
You will only be able to take this course if you have a previous Safeguarding Children Workshop or online recertification on your FAN that was completed at least two-and-a-half years ago.

BCYFC encourages Coaches to improve and develop. To that aim the club will seek to support its Coaches to further develop and gain more qualifications. Where funds allow and subject to committee approval the club will normally pay 50% to 100% of fees for a Coach to gain further qualifications. BCYFC may ask the Coach to remain coaching at BCYFC for a minimum of one year following the financial support and recoup any support should the Coach leave within 12 months

Safeguarding Children

The course is designed to give you an understanding of safeguarding concerns, as well as how to provide a secure environment for young people.

Upon completion of the course, you’ll receive a Safeguarding Children qualification and certificate that will appear on your FAN account and will be valid for two years. You can return to the course to refresh your knowledge at any time.

Please note that our Safeguarding Children Course is available as a module within Introduction to Coaching Football. If you have completed Introduction to Coaching Football, you do not need to complete the Safeguarding Children Course twice.
