GULL SOARS FOR COUGARS UNDER7s BLUES

On Saturday Buntingford Cougars Under7s Blues travel to Hitchin to take on Lea Sports PSG. Matthew Murphy and Oscar Pledger got the game underway for the Cougars in front of the large travelling support, the early exchanges were frantic, but Lea Sports seemed to settle quickest Cougars were spurred into action and Ethan Doughty was denied twice first by a great save from the PSG keeper then from the corner a goal line clearance. Just a few minutes later there was no denying Ryan Neill, from a quick throw in Hadley Anton showed great skill to beat two players and pass to Neill, with his back to goal he controlled the ball, turned a rifled a shot into the top corner. Cougars were now in charge and only a header off the line denied Neill again. The hosts made some changes which helped them regain control of the game and score again before Hadley pounced on a loose ball to cleverly chipped in over three players to score Cougars’ second.

The second half saw Anthony Gull go in Goal for Cougars and he soon denied a certain goal. The introduction of Ryan Gull on pitch helped Hadley score again. Doughty, Neill and Pledger were now winning every ball and Cougars were on top again, dominating the rest of the second half. The away side were rewarded late on when Murphy opened his Cougars account.
