Cougars Under12’s Blues started well at Melbourn with some solid tackling by Freddie Bentley, Sam Miles , Jack Hedge and Sam Maley. Early crosses from Bentley and Stan Wennington saw the host’s guardian pull off some fine saves. Jude Shanks hit the post and Rocco Douglas battled hard but couldn’t find the net. Noah Gibson came on for Maley in the second half and stayed strong in midfield. Ethan Vater in goal kept a clean sheet and was untroubled by the home side. A rare nil-nil was the final score in a game that saw Sam Maley scoop Man of the Match.
