BEN BRAVES IT OUT FOR COUGARS UNDER9’s BLUES

Cougars Under 9’s Blues took on Stevenage Boro in a gripping encounter at the Bury. Cougars took an early lead through Ben Lewis who battled hard to win the ball and then fired in with his trusty left foot. The Blues continued to press and shots by Rylee Kitteringham and Adam Sleath were well saved by the Stevenage keeper.

The second half continued in much the same vein as the first with both teams battling hard.  The Cougars went behind but didn’t let their heads drop.  The back line was brilliantly marshalled by Fraser Finlay and Oscar Kay with the midfield terriers of Finley Wood, Bear Wennington and Dan Fone hassling and harrying all around them.  Finally Cougars got their reward with a well deserved goal for Miles Woodford who managed to loft the ball in and with the aid of goal line technology the goal was given.

The game closed out with a couple more chances for both teams in what was a great game of football.  Special mention to Ben Lewis who lost his nan the night before the game but this didn’t stop him turning in a performance she would have been hugely proud of.
