IT’S THE JACK AND JOHHNY SHOW FOR COUGARS UNDER8’S STRIPES

It was a little and drizzly Saturday as Cougars Under8s game their got underway at The Bury against Shefford Saints. The visitors started well and their early pressure told with a goal that left Jake Cole with no chance in the Cougars goal.

Cougars responded well to the early setback with Johnny Nicholas, Tasha McNamara and Ryan Gasson breaking up play and Kyson Man was working hard on the right side. The hosts worked a couple of chances that fell to Nicholas and McNamara.

After some changes Cougars improved further with William Brown working hard and Noah Benton getting forward into shooting positions. The encounter became lively with end-to-end action. Cougars had Archie Beattie to thank for some defensive work and McNamara, bow in goal made some key saves.

After the interval Jack Nicholas now keeping goal made some good early saves, and the side pressured the ball well. His brother Johnny created a chance that went just wide. The latter stages were the best for Buntingford with lots of possession in the opponent’s half. Brown had three efforts that he could not converts William thoroughly deserved a goal, with 3 great efforts, all saved well by the Saints keeper. Kyson Man was full of energy showing real determination in tackling and never giving up on the ball. After the match Manager On Man told Sky News “Cougars put in a proud performance, with every player giving everything. Well done Cougars.”
