Buntingford’s Under10s Blues captained by Liam Neill, travelled to Hitchin based FC Comets and played a fantastic first half. Cougars had most of the possession and enjoyed some great efforts but were punished for not converting as the hosts went into the break two goals to the good.
But with morale high, Cougars came out fighting in the second half and with continuous hard work a goal was set up for Lal Wennington to convert. The visitors kept on working hard and creating chances to the end but were unable to score again. Man of the match for Cougars was Blue Salmon. Manager Wes Cook told BBCs five live afterwards “It was a great effort from all the players and an exciting game to watch.”
